Biography: Virginia Beth Bloodworth passed away peacefully surrounded by family at UAMS on February 10, 2011. Beth was born on February 23, 1969 to Ann and Tom Bridgers of Little Rock, AR. Beth attended Pulaski Academy for 10 years where she played basketball and graduated from Central High School. She studied at William Woods College in Fulton, MO where she was on the Dean?s list and a member of Delta Gamma. She also attended Texas Christian University before earning a business degree from the University of Central Arkansas. She completed her course work for a Master of Science degree in Geography at the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. Beth was a lifelong member of Second Presbyterian church in Little Rock and attended United Methodist Church in Van Buren, MO. She worked as a National Park Service Ranger. Her first assignment was Guadalupe National Park in West Texas followed by Big Cypress in Southern Florida. She spent two seasons at Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. In addition to her law enforcement duties she was also a Wildland Firefighter, EMT and Interpretative Ranger. The greatest joy in Beth?s life was her children Emma and Zeb, she loved them with all of her heart. She met her husband and best friend Bobby who loved her unconditionally while they were working as Park Rangers at Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. Beth loved to travel and they had many adventures together all over the United States. Beth was happiest when she was outside enjoying nature. Camping, hiking and boating were a few of her favorites. Beth had a love of reading especially non-fiction and never saw a book that she did not like. Beth is survived by her husband, Robert ?Bobby? Bloodworth; her daughter, Emma Helen (8); her son, Zeb Logan (6); her parents; her sister Kimberly Porter(Derek) and her sister in law Cindy Tomkins (Jim) of Gallatin, TN. She was adored by her nieces Mary Tomkins and Isabelle Porter and nephews John Robert Tomkins and Luke Porter. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Virginia Cox of Conway, AR. and Lois and Edward Bridgers of North Little Rock, AR. Beth was also preceded in death by her two older brothers whom she loved dearly, Bret and Sean Bridgers. Beth?s steadfast hope and her determination for a full recovery never faltered. Along the way she became an inspiration to all who knew her and shown the will and strength of a mother?s love. A memorial service celebrating Beth?s life will be held on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary of Second Presbyterian Church, 600 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock. A second memorial service will be held in Van Buren, Missouri where Beth?s family lives. Beth?s last request was to have her ashes spread on the Buffalo National River where she and her husband had many experiences together.
