Biography: Mrs. Martha L. Hillman, age 97, passed away on February 6, 2011. She was born to Cynthia and Grant Beverly August 23, 1913 in Wise, Virginia. Mrs. Hillman was one of 15 children and the last surviving sibling. She was predeceased in death by her husband of 46 years, Gordon C. Hillman. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Ward- Haynie and son-in-law, Dr. Charles Haynie of Little Rock, AR, and a stepdaughter, Pauline Stucchi (Edward) of Mount Dora, FL, four grandchildren, Sherri Lindsey, Van Buren, AR, Anderson Ward, Ripon, CA, Dr. Bracy Haynie, Mt. Juliet, TN, and Sarah Clark, Little Rock, AR, and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hillman lived for many years in Norfolk, VA where she practiced nursing. Upon retirement, she and her husband moved to Ocala, FL, for a few years and then in 1980 moved to Little Rock. She spent her last years in the Chenal Heights Nursing & Rehab Facility, Little Rock. She was a christian and member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Our special thanks to Arkansas Hospice and all the many people who touched her life while at Chenal Heights Nursing and Rehab. She was blessed with a long and fruitful life and will be sorely missed by her family. She gave us and others many years of love, humor, friendship, compassion and touched many, many lives.
