Dear Dana & Family, It really disturbed me to see my friend Charlie's obituary. I really enjoyed talking to you and Charlie in the hospital while my wife Margie was in with a fractured hip. You and I were at LRHS at the same time. I was at UAF in 1950 in the EE Department and could have graduated with Charlie except for two Military Service hitches which delayed my graduation to 1953 and my MSEE in Jan of 1954. I always looked up to Charlie as a leader, my PE1408 was a later number than Charlie's. I was also a PP of the AAEE. I always spoke to Charlie as I passed his table at Rotary. Margie and I send our love and support to all of you. Dick Homard

Dear Mrs. Deitz, Martha, Elise, Drew, Emily, and David,
We are so sorry for the loss of such a wonderful man. Phil admired Charlie in the business world and respected him as a man of integrity. When we saw him, he was always so kind to our whole family. He had such a fun sense of humor and was so smart. You could tell he loved the Lord by the way he loved his family and others. We are praying for your family! Love, Shannon Pate, for all the Pates

Charlie Deitz had such a significant and positive impact in my life. A mentor, friend, and wonderful Christian man, Mr. Deitz took a number of opportunities to invest in this young sales engineer over 25 years ago. His stories were magical and his humility & integrity was inspiring. Always a sparkle in his eyes that caused us each to smile, heaven is a better place today with Charlie.

I respected Charles as Navy veteran and mentor in my own electrical engineering career. He set the bar high for being a gentleman in his business conduct and professionalism in the practice of electrial engineering.

I met him the first time in my interview with the Professional Engineering Board prior to taking the PE exam in 1975. Later, when I was employed at Garver, I was constantly measuring myself and my abilities against what Charlie would do. My bosses made the same measurments.

Dana and family-you have my deep sympathy. Our community truly mourns this loss.

Dana and Family-You are in our prayers as we all will greatly miss Charlie. Charlie has been one of my heroes as a great Christian and a great engineer since I met him in 1970. He was very influential in my life as a young engineer getting to work alongside Charlie on many projects at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville campus. His integrity, demeanor and knowledge as an engineer served as great examples to me and others who were privileged to know him. God bless you.
