I first got to know Jason as a student in my UALR classes. We became friends, and he "house sat" for me when I was called away. Jason was a very bright, energetic, and truly decent man, and I really regret I had not kept up with him. I had met his wife but not his children but I hope they are well.

I owe so much to Jason's friendship and advice and help for the past 39 years. He was a powerful force in a lot of lives, without ever intending to be powerful. He was one of a kind and will be missed by more people than you can count.

JASON ROUBY - a delightful, diverse and beloved gentleman. No one can fill the void his death has created. We were friends for several decades with several similar community interests. One summer day I was strolling through a downtown LR parking garage and singing aloud (the echo was marvelous). Suddenly, up popped Jason - insisting I continue my warble as he walked me to my vehicle. We spent the next hour singing in the concrete garage, discussing the lyrics of Cole Porter compared to Ira Gershwin -- Nelson Riddle's orchestrations -- and detailing if Linda Rondstadt or Harry Nilsson did a better presentation of our favorite 1930s tunes. He could discuss Wimbledon and the latest best selling books and, and, and... Jason was just a pleasure to be around. Last spring we walked in to the late-Brownie Ledbetter's funeral together and shared memories again. Amongst the jewels bestowed upon Arkansas's bounty are acres of homegrown DIAMONDS - a 'never discovered' by Spanish explorers mine of EMERALDS - but there will never be but one JASON ROUBY.

I did not know Mr. Rouby but I have worked with his daughter Carole for many years. He must have been a good man to have raised Carole who is my longtime friend and fellow worker.

I have so many fond memories of oodles of hours during my teen years at the Rouby's BUT I have learned so much about my best friend Chris's Dad from reading his life's synopsis. What a full life!
My love goes out to all those whose daily lives he touched...

I was looking for someone else's obituary and saw Mr. Rouby's instead. What a wonderful, kind, generous and smart man he was! The girls have fond memories of spending time with the Rouby family - Chris, Rachel and even Chris' parents because babysitting wasn't just babysitting. We will be keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers, and hope you will find comfort in the many happy memories you have.
