Biography: Neleta Louise Hard Wofford, age 94, of Little Rock, died on December 25, 2010 at Baylor Medical Center in Irving, Texas. Mrs. Wofford was born in Cleveland, Oklahoma on September 6, 1916 to Mr. and Mrs. Robert William Hard. Mrs. Wofford graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Business Education. She was a member of Chi Omega Fraternity. Mrs. Wofford taught business education at Wheeler High School in Wheeler, Texas and at Drumwright High School in Drumwright, Oklahoma between 1940 - 1946. She assisted with the family owned Wheeler Drug Store from 1948 - 1961. She moved to Little Rock in 1961 where she became involved in the Little Rock Alumnae Chapter of Chi Omega Fraternity and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Wofford was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She taught the Elizabeth Sunday School Class for more the 35 years and held the title of Teacher Emeritus at the time of her death. She was active in the Women's Missionary Union, XYZ, and served on numerous church committees. She was an official delegate to the Southern Baptist Convention in 1993. Mrs. Wofford was predeceased by her husband, Frank, and her parents. She is survived by two daughters, Jane Porter and her husband Todd, of Irving, Texas and Martha McFerron and her husband, Steve, of Jonesboro; a grandson, Matt Wofford McFerron of Athens, Georgia; a granddaughter, Cary Elizabeth Porter of Bastrop, Texas, three nephews, one niece, and a number of cousins. A graveside service will be held at 9 A.M. on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Roselawn Memorial Park for family and friends with Dr. Rex Horne officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elizabeth Sunday School Class. Visitation will follow at Ruebel Funeral Home, 6313 W. Markham in Little Rock from 10 A.M. - 12 Noon. Martha,Jane and family, Bill and I are keeping all of you through all these days now and ahead. We can't come Saturday but our hearts will be with you. We are still working on Bill's strength. Your mom was a very special person! I thought so much of her all my life. We plan to send a memorial to Chi Omega in honor and memory of her. Take care and hope to see you soon. I am so sorry that we have lost Neleta. She and Frank where very dear friends of my parents, Sarah and Ralph. Neleta was always kind and sweet to our family. We will be out of town and will miss her service. We will think of you all and miss being there. Beverly Beadle

Jane and family, so sorry to learn of your Mother's death in Tuesday's paper. Your Mother and mine were contemporaries in so many ways but probably never met while they lived in Little Rock.
