Biography: Frankie Dianne Farquhar, aged 69, of Little Rock, Arkansas, died Tuesday morning, November 9, 2010 after her battle with cancer. She was, and forever will be, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Dianne was the eldest of five children born to Helon Myrick and the late Frank Reid. She graduated from Qulin High School, in Missouri. She, then, moved to Little Rock with her husband and two children. Dianne enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as the Personnel Director of the Vocational and Technical Education Division for the State of Arkansas. She was a highly regarded and respected employee and well-loved by all who knew her. She was an active member of Preceptor Alpha chapter of Beta Sigma Phi for over forty years. She was State Woman of the Year and Valentine Queen and served as President of her chapter and the Beta Sigma Phi City Council many times. Her sisters will miss her deeply. Above all else, she was a marvelous mother. With her love, strength and devotion, she gave her children the best life possible and loved them with all her heart. She was a loving and ‘Precious’ grandmother to her five grandchildren, Nick and Georgia Allen and Kelsey, Savannah and Skyler Lancaster, who thought the world of her. She instilled in them the joy of reading, one of her passions in life. Dianne lived life to the fullest, never taking any day for granted. She battled cancer for more than twenty years but never let it take over and dampen her zest for life. For her, the greatest joy was to spend time with her family and friends. Through her, the Lord blessed her entire family and many others. The world is a sadder place without her. Dianne was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Farquhar, her brother, Michael Reid and her stepfather, Earl Myrick. She is survived by her two children, Dana Lynne Allen and her husband, Simon Allen and Spencer Alan Lancaster and his wife, Dena Lancaster and her step children, Diane Binns, Bill Farquhar and Bob Farquhar. She is, also, survived by her siblings, David Reid, Frank Reid and De Linthicum. A memorial service will be held at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Jeff Hampton. Burial will follow at Little Rock National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Rice Depot, 3801 W. 65th Street, Little Rock, AR or Arkansas Hospice, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, AR 72116. Arrangements by Ruebel Funeral Home. www.ruebelfuneralhome.com

On behalf of all at Batford Community Church where Dianne was a much loved and valued long-distance member. The times Dianne shared with us when visiting her family in England made us priviliged to have known such a special, loving and gracious lady who endured the pain and suffering of illness with a grace and faithfulness which testified to her faith in our Lord.

May the whole family be reassured to know that you are now at peace with Him and experience the love and comfort of the Lord in their time of grief.

What a lovely, kind and gracious lady, I am so pleased to have met her and so sad that she won't be at our next prayer group. Dianne was very wise and I loved her smile and the way her eyes sparkled and twinkled even though she may have not been having the best day and may have been feeling very uncomfortable.

Dianne was indeed a woman of God and she effortlessly reflected so much of God's loving nature and wisdom. Like so many others, I am richer for having known her and look forward to meeting her again in God's glorious kingdom. Praying for peace and comfort for all the family, especially my dear friend Dana, Dianne's daughter. Thanks for sharing your lovely mom with me.
