Biography: Stanley M. Bauman, Jr., 83, passed away at his home on November 4, 2010. He was born in Little Rock on November 7, 1926. Bud was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Grundfest Bauman, with whom he had a 60 year love affair. He was also predeceased by his parents, Stanley M. Bauman, Sr. and Sadee Alexander Bauman, and his sister, Betty Bauman Davis. Bud is survived by his children, David Bauman and his wife Kathy, Merrill Bauman Stern and her husband Michael, and Steve Bauman and his wife Jill; his grandchildren, Katie Bauman and her husband Adam Eckstein, Annie Bauman, Jennifer Stern Adair and her husband Jordan, Lisa Stern Fay and her husband Alex, Jay Bauman and Barrie Bauman and her fiancé, Cole Silverman; and his great-granddaughter, Gracie Ruth Eckstein. He is also survived by his niece, Suzi Davis; his sister-in-law, Judy Grundfest; his cousin,Janet Mayersohn; his close friends, Norma Jean and Gene Lockwood; Katie and Annie’s mother, Susan Bauman; his dear friend and wonderful caregiver, Bertha Roberts; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins who meant so much to him. Bud was a graduate of the University of Illinois and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He spent his career as a Vice-President and Director of the Sterling Stores Company. He was twice the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Bud was an avid golfer and he and Bobby spent over 20 wonderful winters at Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic. He was a lifelong member of Congregation B’Nai Israel in Little Rock. But most of all, Bud was a family man, always putting the needs of his beloved Bobby and his children and grandchildren before his own. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 7, at Congregation B’Nai Israel, 3700 N. Rodney Parham Road. Burial will be in Jewish Oakland Cemetery.
