My mother and I worked for David at Arkansas Explosives. Once, when I was in college, my friend Marty and I were driving back to Fayetteville from a bluegrass festival, almost out of gas with no money as we went through Little Rock. I remembered that David had an account w/ a gas station right on I30, so we stopped and filled up on using his account. As soon as we got back to Fayetteville, I borrowed the money and sent him a check, which he never cashed. When I stopped by to see him once, he had framed the check and hung it on his wall.

Great guy. I hadn't heard he died until now... My condolences to his family.

God bless you David, you have finally come to a peaceful resting place. Although I only met you once at Vivian's wedding, I remember you as a friendly, interesting and genuine person. I know you were a good husband and friend to my cousin Barbara. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of the family.

Uncle David was very cool. He used to take my brother and I up to the mountains where he blew up rocks; many times he'd give us a piece of quartz crystal he found at work. I was so fascinated with his job and would look for the sides of mountains he'd blown up, that were on our way to his house. I appreciated his sense of humor- my favorite memories of it were from Thanksgiving dinners! ;) I will miss him!

Farewell David.
I will always remember your impressions of my
"Jersey accent" which of course was no match for
your melodic southern drawl. You enjoyed a
fulfilling life of which you shared many blessed years with my dear sister Barbara.
Rest in peace.

Dear David, I'll always remember my visits with you and how lovely you treated me. I was always enthralled by the stories of your travels and live adventures. Funny, but one thing that sticks out in my mind is the time you took me out on your Crist Craft boat. I loved it and I loved you. I'll miss you. Love,Marie Murtha
