Biography: Roy Herbert Shepard, age 91, of Little Rock, passed away peacefully in his home on October 20, 2010. He was born in Danville, Illinois, on July 25, 1919 to the late Julia and Robert Shepard. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lucille Russell and a grandson, Jordan Shepard. Roy graduated from Danville High School, where he was a drum major. He met his wife Grace Marye Read of Mena, Arkansas, while serving in the Army during WW II. He worked at Dixie Equipment Company for twenty-five years as an accountant and treasurer. He served as president and area director of Administrative Management Society. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner and member of Magnolia Lodge #60. He was an Eagle Scout, earning 56 merit badges and volunteered as scoutmaster for 17 years. Roy was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 32 years. He is survived by his wife Grace, of 64 years; daughter, Bette Parker of Little Rock; two sons, Ken Shepard and wife Nancy of Little Rock and Don Shepard of Cabot, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren, Lisa Stoltzfus and husband Zach of Honey Brook, Pennsylvania, Linda Beth, Leanna, Ethan, Jared, Micah, Meleah and MeKency Shepard, all of Little Rock, David and Steven Shepard of Cabot, Arkansas and 1 brother, Lucky Shepard of Huntington, West Virginia. Visitation will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home on Sunday, October 24, 2010 from 3 to 5 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 10 a.m., officiated by Dr. Ed Simpson.
