Biography: Mae Horn, age 94, passed away on Monday October 18, 2010 at her home in Maumelle. She was born in Cisco, Texas on May 25, 1916 to the late Pearl and Jasper Daniels. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Maumelle. Mae was married for 37 years to L.A. Horn, until his death in 1969. She and Mr. Horn moved to Little Rock in 1951.They introduced the zig-zag sewing machine to the state of Arkansas. Mae was trained In Italy in the use of this innovative sewing technology. She held demonstrations of this machine throughout the state. She and her husband went into the clothing business with Horn’s Men Store in1961. She appeared on television commercials and is best known for her raspy voiced “I dress all the best dressed men.” She operated a successful retail clothing store at 7th and Center for over 30 years. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Horn Roy, her granddaughter, Cathy Wyatt and husband Richard Wyatt, and four grandchildren, Lindsay Mae Wyatt, Allen Wyatt, Jonathon Wyatt, and Joshua Wyatt and one surviving sister, Mary Linn, of Fort Worth, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to L.A. Horn Scholarship at UALR. Visitation will be at Ruebel Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 from 4 to 6 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 11 a.m., followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Park. I just read of Mae's passing. I am so sorry for your loss and so blessed to have known her. She had an enormously positive impact on my life. She was one in a million and will be greatly missed.
