Biography: William Loral Thomason, 82, of Little Rock, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2010. He was born September 5, 1928, in Bertrand, Missouri, to the late Robert J. Thomason and Edith Johnson Thomason. He is preceded in death by his sister, Norma Deloris Thomason and his grandson, Jared Clay Hutson. He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Lynn Thomason and Georgia Ann Guppy, and two granddaughters, Maryam and Bethany, all of Little Rock. He is also survived by three sisters, Dorothy Pobst, Nadine Lynn, and Mary Catherine Rolwing and his brother, Robert J. Thomason, all of Missouri. Furthermore, he is survived by 19 nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives. Mr. Thomason attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and served in the Korean War. Following military service, the Thomason family moved to Hot Springs, where Bill was employed by the NCR Corporation. He was active in the Hot Springs Rotary Club and many other community organizations. In 1967 the family relocated to Little Rock where Bill continued his career at NCR. Following his tenure at NCR, he co-founded Business Machines Systems. Throughout his many years in business he made many friends and was known for his integrity. Bill was also an avid bridge player and member of the Little Rock Duplicate Bridge Club. He was an ACBL Bronze Life Master and served as past president of the club. Bill also enjoyed traveling. Prior to his illness he enjoyed a trip to Ireland, England, and Switzerland with his youngest daughter, Lisa. Playing golf was another activity Bill enjoyed. He was also a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. The family wishes to thank Dr. Lawrence Mendelsohn and his staff for their excellent care of Dad during his illness and Arkansas Hospice for making his final days more peaceful and comfortable. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at Ruebel Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Father Jason Sharbaugh.
