Biography: Katherine Werner Morrow, 107, of Little Rock, died Saturday, August 7, 2010. Mrs. Morrow was born in Clarksville, Arkansas to Eucharius and Johanna Riedel Werner on August 31, 1902. She was the youngest of a large German family. Mrs. Morrow was a 1925 graduate of St. Vincent Infirmary and a member of Our Lady of Holy Souls Catholic Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Morrow and her only child, William (Bill) Morrow. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Rose Mintert Morrow of El Paso, Texas; seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Katherine’s family would like to extend their appreciation to the administration and staff at Briarwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A graveside service will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 Hwy. 5 North, Alexander, Arkansas on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. officiated by Deacon William Wrape, II. I am so sorry to hear of Katherine Werner Morrow's death. She was a very good friend of my Mother Mildred's.

Mildred spoke of her in the highest esteem.

We have lost the last of the strong Werner women whose shoulders we later "Werner-blood" women have stood on and advanced to further heights! I fondly remember my Grandma Regina Werner Zimpel talking about "Pop" Werner and Uncle Louis, and knowing Greats Aunt Johanna, Aunt Cele, Aunt Stella, Aunt Teresa, Aunt Katherine, and Uncle John. What treasures of faith and business-sense they passed on! Having lived for about eight years in the house across the street from Holy Redeemer School that "Pop" Werner built and a block up Bluff Street from Grandma and Grandpa Zimpel, we always got to visit when any of them came to town. I cherished the visits of Aunt Katherine and Aunt Cele(as we knew them) and the feistiness they exhibited. My Aunt Margaret and I also visited them some in Little Rock where they were always gracious hosts. We are all so Blessed!

It is sad to hear of the death of my great Aunt Katherine. It is something to know her father was born in 1847, nearly 20 years before the Civil War. He would have been 163 years old. I remember dad and grandma talking abut her. She will be missed.

Aunt Katherine was my Grandma Regina Werner Zimpel's baby sister. It is the end of that generation, but they are all in heaven in God's presence now! With Love! Mary

I remember Aunt Catherine as a very attractive lady.
She was my grandmother's younger sister.
She is now at peace with her family surrounding her.

How very sad to hear of my Great-Aunt Katherine's death. She was one of a number of the Werner family's graduates of St. Vincent's School of Nursing. I enjoyed knowing Aunt Katherine and her sister, Aunt Cele, RN while I was living in LR with my mother, Mildred Werner Huhner, RN in the mid-1960s. Her passing now closes a generation of strong and caring sisters of my Grandfather John Werner. I'm glad I had the pleasure of spending time with them. My prayers to her extended family

My sympathy to the family of Katherine Werner Marrow. Katherine was my Great Aunt, the aunt of my mother, Mildred Werner Huhner. I was in Aunt Katherines' company twice, years ago in Little Rock. I remember her well as an attractive woman, fun loving, with a spirited personality. Her death closes a chapter on a generation of hard working people whose values and love of family were etched into their very soul. What a tribute to Eucharius and Johanna Werner. May Katherine rest in peace.

I hate to see Aunt Katherine pass, it is definately the end of an era, for our family.
I only met Aunt Katherine one time, and I was taken-back at her mental state. Our children found cmfort knowing that their daddy had an aunt in Little Rock that was over one hundred, and was always setting records. She will be missed.

My prayers and thoughts are with all our family and friends who are able to be there on Tuesday to celebrate Katchie's wonderful life. I wish I could be there in person, but will be here in NM praying for Katchie. I am happy Tom and Drew will be there.

I will always remember fondly the visits Tom and I (and our family) had when we were able to pass through Little Rock, Arkansas on our way home to NM from back East visits.

I know Tom and my kids were fortunate to be able to meet and spend time with their Great Grandmother. Not many of our kids’ friends could say they had a great grandmother who was 107 yrs old.

I am so happy to have been able to get to know Katchie these past 23 years Tom and I have been married. Katchie will be missed, but we will always remember fondly the times we shared.
