Carol, This is Mr. Banks, former assistant choir director at Pine Bluff High (1981-83). When I read the obituary in the paper and saw the Pine Bluff connection, it donned on me whose mother I was actually reading about. Your mom was always so very nice to me and her spirit and smile made me feel special. I will keep your family in my prayers, and I shall forever remember you taking me on my first and only motorcycle ride. I tell my friends about it all the time. May God continue to bless you and place you in His marvelous favor. Rickey

Gail and I first met in Holcomb Dorm as Freshman.
Then we went on to pledge Chi O together. Because we were both short and dark haired we were confused by those who did not know us well.
She was elected the Army Honorary Cadet Colonel and I was elected the Air Force Cadet Colonel. A honor for each of us. I had dated Jim Cross before her, then I became engaged to another Jim.
Then she and Jim fell in love and later married.
She was in my wedding to Jim Buckley. Since I moved from Arkansas, I only saw her at Chi O reunions. It was great fun to rekindle friendships and reflect on memories. The last time I saw her in Fayetteville, she had not changed and was as pretty and gracious as ever. I was happy for her in her new marriage.
I am so sadden for her children and grandchildren. We had the the opportunity to meet her precious twin granddaughters at the Chi O house while on our last reunion. May all of you be comforted by precious memories of your mother and grandmother. She was wonderful and I am so sorry that her life was taken in such a tragic way.

All cheerleaders have great smiles, but Gail outshone all the rest of us. Wherever she was, at the ChiO house, in Razorback Stadium, or in these last recent years, on the tennis court, Gail lit up every place she was. Her zest for life and enthusiasm will long be remembered, and memories of calling the Hogs won't go away. May God's peace be with all family members and her legacy of living life to the fullest be recalled as we go forward - missing her, but grateful we knew her. Nancy M. Wood

I was devastated to hear of Gail's untimely death. In addition to leaving a huge hole in the hearts of her family members, Gail's death is also a devastating loss to the women who make up her close-knit circle of friends. My mom is among those women who now feel lost without their bubbly, funny, caring, sensitive, kind and courageous gal pal. It hurts me to know how much Gail's family and friends are suffering at this time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

To everyone in Jan's family
Our sadness is overwhelming at the loss of Ms Gail. No one ever met her who didn't immediately fall in love with her. Her smile and her twinkling eyes will live on forever in Jan, Rachel and Elizabeth -- some things in life are not to be explained and this is one of those things. May God hold all of you in his hand and know that there are lots of people who love you -- here for you when you need us.

When I first met Gail, I couldn't help but love her. She was one of the kindest, caring, sincere people I knew. I am completely heartbroken for her family. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Dear Children of a wonderful lady; "Mama Gail" has she was affectionately called takes me back to the late 70's when I worked for Gail, Jim and Ann. Mama Gail taught me to laugh at my mistakes, respect myself and others and how to go on with life when things were tough. Time and years have separated us but what she taught me remains with me daily. She was a beautiful person with a great smile. I pray that God will give you all the strength, comfort and peace that you all will need now and the days to come.
I've thought of you often through the years.

Years and time separated us, but you never forget the people who shared important parts of your life. I pray that God will give you peace and comfort during this time and the days to come. Gail was so full of fun, she made you feel special whenever you were with her. She still looked like a Razorback cheerleader last year when I saw her. She still had that vivacious spirit she had in 1954, and she made me think she might break out in the hog call any minute. I loved her sparkly eyes from the first time I met her as a Chi O pledge sister. She was unique. What a hole she leaves!!!

Gail had a dynamite smile, glimmering eyes, contagious laugh & a generous heart. Although she was small in stature - nobody messed with "Mama Gail". She was a well respected Realtor, shrewd businesswoman & a true champion of her family.

I will always look back with great fondness of my time with Gail. She always made me feel so welcomed. God grant you peace preciously lady. Gail was the true meaning of a Southern Lady - Class & Sass - Grit & Grace.

I was in the pledge class with Gail and was one of her roommates at the Chi O house. One of my favorite memories was when she came back from Christmas break she walked in to the room in a full length fur coat. It was beautiful, but it was hard not to laugh at the sight. You only saw a cute head at the top and some very short legs out of the bottom. She was ALL coat.

I loved the semester and the many laughs we had with our friends.
