Biography: Carolyn Middleton Stansell, 81, of Little Rock passed away Wednesday July 28, 2010. She was born in Little Rock AR to the late Grace and Charles Henry Middleton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Stansell. She is survived by her son Greg Stansell and wife Leslie and their sons Benjamin and Jacob all of Little Rock. Carolyn graduated from Little Rock High School. She was married to Barney in 1949. She retired after 20 years of service to the Federal Government where she was the Secretary for the USDA Veterinary Services. She worked alongside the Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission and was part of the team that eradicated Brucellosis in the state. After retirement she spent her time volunteering for Geyer Springs United Methodist Church, fishing, and loving for her animals. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. A visitation will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home Thursday July 29, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. A graveside service will be Friday July 30, 2010 at 10 a.m. in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Geyer Springs United Methodist Church; 5500 Geyer Springs Rd Little Rock AR 72209. Your mom was truly a blessing to me. She was there for me when I needed help with my parents. I was so grateful when she could take my mom to the grocery store, hair appointment etc. She was a very kind lady and a great friend and neighbor to my parents and me. She will be truly missed.
