Jack, you and yours are in my prayers as you face the difficult days ahead without your daddy. I don't know how people make it who don't have the hope of Heaven.

Jack allowed me to enter the Quapaw House 11/25/81
that started a journey of a life far better than ever thought possible. His tough love and compassion set a foundation for me to stay sober. His words of wisdom and example of living will be missed by me. I'll see you again Jack at the end of the road of happy destiny. once again thank you and I love you Jack.

Jack was on my worksheet as a contact when coming through the Women's Dorm. I will always be grateful my sponsor added him to my contacts to make. He was a wonderful teacher and quietly handed me some spiritual tools to live by. There were times I would run into him right when I needed someone to talk to - an Eskimo in the snow storm. Thank you Jack. Love Beverly

Jack was a giant of a man and helped me an awful lot. He was a rock in our recovery community. He advised me many times and shared his experiences and related them to the things that I was experiencing so that I was able to know that Jack understood, and could provide me with knowledgable answers. Jack was blessed with being in his right mind up until his physical death. His spiritual advise, guidance, impact on the recovery community and inspiration still lives on. We love you Jack and thank the family for sharing this great person with us and take comfort in knowing that Jack's contributions will never be forgotten.

when I was a child, my dad attended AA meetings.. I don't remember if Mr. Evans was his sponsor, but I do remember gatherings at Christmas and other times when we would go to the AA meeting place as a family and have a potluck... I remember Mr. Evans well... You know he had to be larger than life and a wonderful person for me to remember him so fondly..I was around 8-10 years old.. and I'm in my 50's now..My condolences to his family...

Jack, on Dec.15,1976, I had the pleasure of walking into your life. Your words on wisdom and incouragement helped me start my new life in AA. Not to say I wouldn't have away to "sober up", but your words and love has made it very easy. You will be truely by me with your presents, but the words you have spoken in all the years of our friendship will never be forgoten. Say "HI" to our big buddy. And as always, walk with God. Thank you, for everything.
Love, Larry

People like Jack don't come often and we are very fortunate when they do. I am just one of very, very many whose lives are better for having known him. Jack defined service and he will be missed.
