Bruce, Harriet, and Family,
I wanted you to know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Your Mother was such a beautiful, gracious lady, and she was so proud of you and your family. This week has brought back so many memories of the years my husband, Joe Baker, and your father worked together. Your parents were so kind to us, and we shared so many happy years.
Your Mother would laugh at the stories your Dad would tell about his hunting dog, and the fishing trips he and Joe had on Lake Ouchita. You were blessed to have such wonderful parents.
My son, Joe David Baker, and daughter, Rosemary Baker Torrence, also send their love and sympathy.

Bruce & Harriet,
Unfortunately, as Mary Gay told you, I will be out of town on Saturday; and am sorry to miss seeing you and attending the service for one fine lady.

Sylvia would want me to remind you of the long history of your dad and mom with the Swaim family. You mom grew up across the street from Syl's dad, Guy Swaim, then your dad and Guy attended Auburn Architectual School together. If I remember the story correctly, your Dad had been dating Syl's mother, Mildred, but made the mistake of introducing her to Guy. The rest of the story is history. The two couples remained life long friends.

Every time I saw your mother, she would always tell me that Sylvia's and my wedding was the most beautiful that she had ever attended. What a compliment.

And then there is her beloved Smith Corona electric typewriter with script font (some call it cursive.) When it became difficult for her to hand write, she became so proud of doing her correspondence on that typewriter. I don't think that I ever had a more satisfied customer!

Then there was her 100th birthday party that you had for her. Since she would never tell anyone her age, her exclamation as to who let the secret out was hilarious.

When we moved to North Ridge Road in 1966, your dad and mom were always very special neighbors.

As you can tell, I have many fond memories of your folks. May God bless you and your family.

My wife and I were long-time traveling friends of Marilyn Duncan and her late husband, Al. For years we heard Marilyn talk so much of "El-Lellie" with love and affection that we thought we knew her. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss, and rest assured that she now is in a better place!

Bruce and Family,

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Ms. Helen. She was a long time friend and neighbor to our family.

Your mom was a great lady and will truly be missed. She lived only two doors down from us while I was growing up and was a good friend and PEO sister of my grandmother and mom...I'm sure that there is alot of PEO business going on in heaven right now.

My dad, Mike McWilliams, is out of town right now, but wanted me to let you know that he is thinking of you.

Leave your Condolence
