Biography: Charles Wycough “Chuck” Jeffery, M.D., 49, died Monday, April 26, 2010, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, after a relentless battle with cancer. He was born December 26, 1960, in Batesville, Arkansas, to Nancy Myers Jeffery and the late H. Carter Jeffery, Jr. He attended school in Batesville where he was valedictorian of his class. He graduated in 1983 Summa Cum Laude from Arkansas College, now Lyon College, and was a member of the Lyon golf team. He graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1987. Dr. Jeffery completed a residency in radiology at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas and a fellowship in interventional radiology at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. He was certified by the American Board of Radiology with a sub-specialty in Interventional Radiology. He was a partner at Radiology Consultants in Tulsa OK, and in 2005 joined Radiology Associates P.A. in Little Rock. Chuck played by the rules. His integrity was constant and unquestionable. He was a remarkable scholar. His knowledge was vast and varied; his sense of humor was legendary. He was a lot like his favorite show Frasier: witty, intelligent and multi layered. His friends are endless. His always active curiosity and perspicacity led him on frequent travels to Scotland in quest of the ultimate single malt scotch, McAllen Grand Reserva. Indeed, he could quote Robert Burns at any occasion. Chuck meant the world to his wife and children and in their eyes he was the greatest man who walked the earth. His dedication to his family and his profession was profound. He cherished his family and was extremely proud of his children. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, H. Carter and Virginia Fitzhugh Jeffery, Sr.; Hassell Evans and Wanda Gray Myers; his father, H. Carter Jeffery, Jr. and an uncle, Columbus Gray Myers.
