Biography: Barron Belmont (Bo) Boshears, 64, of Little Rock, died March 28 after a long illness. Bo was born in Little Rock in 1945, the son of Herman and Rosalyn Boshears. Before his liver transplant and subsequent illness, Bo worked for the Arkansas Attorney General’s office as an investigator in the consumer protection division. Prior to his job with the AG’s office, he and his wife, Jenny Storthz Boshears, owned and operated the World Deli, where they sold gourmet food. Before that he owned Boshears Cleaners in the Heights, his family’s business. Bo displayed his creative spirit in many ways, but his passion was photography inspired by Ansel Adams and Edward Weston. He created large-format, black-and-white images, shooting landscapes, portraits and still lifes. His photograph of the dome of the Pulaski County Courthouse won statewide awards. He especially enjoyed shooting the desert scenery of the West and the stark beauty of Arkansas. His works are in private collections around the country. Bo was a catcher for his American Legion baseball team in high school and pitched in a softball league as an adult. He also loved to cook, fish, and watch Thoroughbred horse racing. He was an expert at billiards and pool, and his tastes in music varied from Puccini to Doc Watson. In recent years, he enjoyed drinking coffee at the Boulevard Bread Co., watching the Food Channel, and following NCAA basketball. Bo was kind and compassionate, and had a wry sense of humor that his friends adored. He was always on the side of the underdog. He loved his wife and dearest companion, Jenny; his beloved step-daughter, Katey; his family and friends; and his wonderful caregiver for the past 10 years, Rosie Rafter. He also adored his faithful beagle companion, Chloe. He is survived by his wife, Jenny; step-daughter, Katey (Jon) Hobbs of St. Louis; two grandsons, Andrew and Alex Hobbs of St. Louis; two brothers, Clint (Cynthia) and Gaylon (Carolyn) Boshears; and nieces and nephews. Services will be at Ruebel Funeral Home at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, March 31st. Donations can be made to Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency (ARORA), the Humane Society, the Storthz Award at UALR, or a favorite charity. www.ruebelfuneralhome.com
I am so sorry to hear about Bo. We were close friends in high school and we played softball together after I got out of the service. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of loss.
