Biography: Barron Belmont (Bo) Boshears, 64, of Little Rock, died March 28 after a long illness. Bo was born in Little Rock in 1945, the son of Herman and Rosalyn Boshears. Before his liver transplant and subsequent illness, Bo worked for the Arkansas Attorney General’s office as an investigator in the consumer protection division. Prior to his job with the AG’s office, he and his wife, Jenny Storthz Boshears, owned and operated the World Deli, where they sold gourmet food. Before that he owned Boshears Cleaners in the Heights, his family’s business. Bo displayed his creative spirit in many ways, but his passion was photography inspired by Ansel Adams and Edward Weston. He created large-format, black-and-white images, shooting landscapes, portraits and still lifes. His photograph of the dome of the Pulaski County Courthouse won statewide awards. He especially enjoyed shooting the desert scenery of the West and the stark beauty of Arkansas. His works are in private collections around the country. Bo was a catcher for his American Legion baseball team in high school and pitched in a softball league as an adult. He also loved to cook, fish, and watch Thoroughbred horse racing. He was an expert at billiards and pool, and his tastes in music varied from Puccini to Doc Watson. In recent years, he enjoyed drinking coffee at the Boulevard Bread Co., watching the Food Channel, and following NCAA basketball. Bo was kind and compassionate, and had a wry sense of humor that his friends adored. He was always on the side of the underdog. He loved his wife and dearest companion, Jenny; his beloved step-daughter, Katey; his family and friends; and his wonderful caregiver for the past 10 years, Rosie Rafter. He also adored his faithful beagle companion, Chloe. He is survived by his wife, Jenny; step-daughter, Katey (Jon) Hobbs of St. Louis; two grandsons, Andrew and Alex Hobbs of St. Louis; two brothers, Clint (Cynthia) and Gaylon (Carolyn) Boshears; and nieces and nephews. Services will be at Ruebel Funeral Home at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, March 31st. Donations can be made to Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency (ARORA), the Humane Society, the Storthz Award at UALR, or a favorite charity. www.ruebelfuneralhome.com

I was sorry to hear of our loss. I spent a many of weekend in growing up with Barry and Liz spending the weekends at Aunt Lynn's. Watching Barry play baseball was always a fun time. I too also recall the color Easter Chicks event. I remember fishing with Barry at Papa George's and trying to beat him in what we caught. Seeing Barry's pictures of natural landscapes and of the County Courthouse made me proud of his hidden talent which he shared with so many. Jenny, Katie, Clint and Gaylon my thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. Thanks Be to God, he has call Barry home to rest now in Peace. Love all of you. Michael

Jenny,

I am so sorry about the loss of Barry. He was a wonderful person with such a quick wit who I loved dearly and always enjoyed being around. We were very close cousins and friends during our childhood and into our 20's and experienced so many things together. Even in our later years whenever we saw each other, we would start talking and pretty soon we were giggling about something. I know you will miss him, and I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers during this sad time.

Love, Carryl

To all of the Boshears Family,

Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I’m one of Barry’s cousins, now in California, and although I haven’t seen Barry for a very long time, I can still picture his wonderful smile and his great sense of humor. Barry would just light up the room. When we were kids we lived within a few blocks of each other and we had a lot of fun and laughs together…some really great memories. One was when we were little kids and I was riding in the back seat of the car with Barry and my older brother Butch, I remember this lengthy conversation about the art of eating a fried chicken leg and the important of eating a lot of Wonder Bread so we could be strong. Funny, how some things stick with you, but I often think about Barry’s dissertation when I’m eating a chicken leg! Barry was not just likeable, but he was downright lovable. May God be with you during these days of tribute to Barry. With love, Pat Rotenberry Mayfield

To Jenny, Clint, Gaylon and Families,

I am so sorry to see that Barry passed away. I only saw this this morning in the Gazette online which I read daily from here in Mexico.

Barry was such a great guy and fought against great odds to enjoy life in his later years - the obit in the Gazette was so well done and captured Barry's accomplishments so wonderfully. I know you will miss him terribly.

I am very sorry I can't be in Arkansas to attend the funeral but please know that my thoughts are with you and your families as you put Barry to rest tomorrow.

With warmest regards,

Robert and Carol Latta

So sorry to here of this loss. Barry was a fun loving person. We shared a lot of good times when were younger and I would stay at Aunt Lynne's. I will never forget one Easter when Mike, Barry and myself were staying at Aunt Lynn's for Easter and we got all the little baby chicks (mind you they were pink, yellow, blue etc back in that day) from the Esso Station behind the cleaners across from then Krogers and took home and put in her attic, all you could hear all night were little peeps. Of course she helped us with lights and all. And then there were the times when I would stay over and make him hamburgers, he said I made the best hamburer in the world. But I would have done anything for my cousin. You will be missed by all. Love Liz
