Danny adn I served as Hospital Corpssmen with the Fleet Marine Corps in the 60s and I remember Danny as being the " intellectual " in our group. He was everything as described in the above commentaries and even more. I had the honor of suturing a head wound he received once while on duty and subsequently taught him how to suture. I am pleased to know that he took the academic route at the University level, as did I after only 10 years of srvice. I am honored to have served with Danny.

Tami and family,
I was across country when I learned of Dan's death. I am so sorry for your loss. We were neighbors for many years and my children loved playing with his kittens and visiting with him. He was a good friend and neighbor and we will miss him. Blessings and love to all the family.

Mr. Bittinger was such a great man to all us girls growing up. He always smiled and always laughed at our silliness. He opened his home so we did not run out and get in trouble growing up. Bless his heart having a bunch of girls singing, dancing and laughing. Tami reminded me he could never say my name right, oh well, I knew I was one of the kids and always would be. I am so thankful to have known a such wonderful person. I will always remember him as such a kind, carng and gentle person, most of all a wonderful Dad. Tami, I love you, and I am so happy I saw your dad last fall. Miss talking to him, and I so sad he is now gone. God must needed someone very special home, he truly got him an Angel.

Tami and family,

I will be grieving along side you in spirit. I have fond memories of your father - we were so young. The day he passed I was at a memorial for my aunt. I love you and pray for your hearts to begin the healing process. It's a road I wish for no one to travel but I will be right here when ever you need me. All my Love to you and your family. Kenny

Tami and all,
I know this is a painful time but I remember something Grampa told my mom when he was going. Don't be sad, I'm going to a better place. All I can add is that as long as we remember, they haven't really left.

Steve and family,
Although we only got to be around your dad a few times, we liked him and his quiet manner. We are glad that you got to be close to him this last year or so, and that he got to see Cooper and be around him. You are in our prayers and thoughts and wish we could be there with you at this time. We hope to see you soon.
Love,

I am so sorry to hear about Danny. I am cousin Jack, son of Florence and Lucian Green, and I grew up in Pine Bluff. I spent a lot of time with all of the Bittingers in Grady when we were kids. Danny was the same age as I am so we always hung out together and on Saturdays we reenacted the western movies we had seen at the open air theater in Grady on Friday night. We used imaginary horses and fingers for guns. Grady was always a happy place to visit. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Love,
Jack

I only met Mr. Bittenger a few times but he appeared to be a very kind and thoughtful man who clearly loved his family very much. I hope the wonderful memories of the person he was helps Tami, Braeden and the rest of his family find some sort of solace during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
