Biography: Our mother’s enduring has ended. Jewel Edna (“Judy”) Kemp passed away peacefully during the early morning, Thursday, last past. Born at Lamar, Arkansas to James Edward Knuckles and Cora May Knuckles on May 21, 1926. Her delightful laugh can still be heard. She was devoted to her husband and dance partner, Joseph Charles Kemp, who predeceased her. She had eight brothers and sisters, two of whom, Pearl Alva Ross Adkinson and Lois Elizabeth Engeldinger, survive her. Her beloved son-in-law, Carl Honeysuckle, predeceased her. She is survived by her three children, Kristin Kemp Compton and her husband, John Compton, Janan Kemp Honeysuckle and Hal Joseph Kemp and his wife, Phyllis Ann Kemp; by six grandchildren, Kristin Beth Honeysuckle, Joseph Charles Honeysuckle, Lara Elizabeth Kemp Beard, Joseph Hamilton Kemp, James Harrison Kemp and Mary Caroline Kemp and by two great grandchildren, Ann Elliott Beard and Caroline Younger Beard. The family wishes to give thanks for their loving care to the staff of the Lakewood Nursing Center and the Arkansas Hospice. In particular we extend our special recognition and thanks to Rhae Ann Noble, who nurtured our mother until the end of her life. Visitation with the family will be at Ruebel Funeral Home from 4:30PM to 6:00PM, Friday, March 5, 2010. A graveside service for the family will be conducted Saturday, March 6, 2010 in the Roselawn Memorial Park, Little Rock, Arkansas. Arrangements by Ruebel Funeral Home. www.ruebelfuneralhome.com

Kristin, Jannan and Hal I loved your mother so much even though I didn't get to see her very often. Our prayers and thoughts go out to you all. I will always love her and remember her as one of the most important people in my life. She taught me so much love,
courage, and strength through out the years. Her kindness, her smile, and love for other people will never be forgotten. She will be missed. Love Velma White

Janan, I just saw in the obituaries of my hometown newspaper, The Johnson County Graphic, that your mom had passed away. I am so sorry to hear that and you and your family will be in my prayers. I didn't remember that she was from Lamar but you had probably told me that at one time. Nora Hampton Sams

My earliest memories of your mom was of a very happy, outgoing person. I will remember her as such, and as a very generous person toward her family.
May your memories bring comfort to all of you. -- Roseanna (Sid's youngest)

Your family has been such an important part of our lives since Lauren and Kristin met as 3 year olds in day care and as we have watched both the girls and Charles grow up. Few families would have the strength to endure all that you have had to endure over the past years but no greater tribute could stand for your mother then the strength and love she instilled in all of you and each of you, Janan, Kristin and Hal. The success of your families and your children live on as a testament to the kind of parents you had and the values you learned. Know she is at peace and all of the earthly ills and problems from which she suffered are now all gone. Today would have been Jimmy's mothers 89th birthday. Two special ladies are now together.
