Biography: John Randall Chase, age 76, passed away January 19, 2010 peacefully at his daughter’s home in Little Rock. His wife of 33 years, Lois Ann Chase, and his son Jack Chase precede him in death. Survivors include son William B. Chase and wife Maria, son James Bradford Chase and wife Meg, daughter Deeni Sterling and husband David, daughter Cristin Mammarelli and husband Paul, all of Little Rock, and daughter-in-law Kathy Chase and Billy Barnard of Freeport, Florida. “Papa” is also survived by 9 grandchildren and one great-grandchild: Debra Chase, Christopher Chase and wife Dyana of Panama City Beach, Florida, Billy Chase, Jake Chase, Meredith Chase, John Chase, Sophie Mammarelli, Elizabeth Anne Sterling, Anna Mammarelli, Stella Mammarelli, and Lucy Chase. He is also survived by his loving dog and companion, Rosie. John was born October 10, 1933 in Orlando, Florida in 1933 and grew up in Gardner, Massachusetts. He graduated from Gardner High School and Hamilton College in New York. He then went to work for GE in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in their Space and Re-entry Division. John retired early from GE after 23 years to start a family-run business so he could spend more time with his wife and children. To that end, he purchased Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park and moved his family to Benton, Arkansas. John had a passion for gardening, animals and most of all spending time with his children on his patio and at the beach. For eight years he took care of his wife Lois as she endured the fight against ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease. His dedication and profound love will never be forgotten. He had a tender and loving personality and all those who met him could sense his gentle nature. He will be remembered with great love and admiration.
