Biography: Carolyn Adelaide Parker Mabry, 89, of Little Rock passed away Sunday January 10, 2010. She was born in Lexington, Massachusetts May 19, 1920 to Ralph Waldo and Susan B. McNeill Parker. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Edward Mabry, of Sherwood and brother, Ralph Waldo Parker, Jr. of Boston, Massachusetts. She is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Anne Mabry of Little Rock, special friends, Robert Andrew Bowie and Inetta Vest of Little Rock, daughter-in-law, Pat Mabry of Sherwood, a sister, Janice Parker of Las Vegas, Nevada and numerous nieces and nephews in Arkansas and Massachusetts. Carolyn was a dedicated Registered Nurse for over 30 years earning her degree from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts in 1942. She was a 1st Lieutenant Army Nurse during WWII serving in the European Theatre and stateside from 1944 to 1946. She retired from the Veteran's Administration Hospital in 1973. Carolyn was an active, long time member and volunteer of First United Methodist Church. Carolyn was known by her family and friends for her fine character, sweet, loving nature, generosity and kindness toward others. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 15, 2010 at Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock with Reverend Dr. Michael Mattox of First United Methodist Church officiating. Mary, though there is great sadness in parting with your mother so dear to your heart...may you find comfort in the thought that she is now in a place of peace. Cherish the wonderful memories you shared together. With my deepest sympathy and prayers for you.

Mary, We are sorry to hear about the death of your Mother. We enjoyed visiting with her at the nursing home and hearing her stories of her nursing career. We will miss her.Our prayers are with you.

Mary, I was so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. Mom (Mary Irvin Mabry-Lugo) will be unable to attend as she remains in the hospital, but I'm going to do my best to be there. Mary, I was so sorry to read this morning of your mom's death. I know how very much she meant to you and can empathize with you in losing a mom.
