Biography: Paul Gaydos, Jr., 68, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2010. Paul was born in Port Lavaca, Texas on January 20th, 1941 and he graduated from Folsom High School in California while serving in the U.S. Air Force at Mather AFB. Paul served in the Air Force for six years and was honorably discharged in 1966. Paul was a professional beekeeper in the field of apiculture during his early career years, and he also spent a number of years working in the aluminum and oil drilling industries. Paul was a devout Christian (a member of the Pleasanton Church of Christ), a dedicated family member, an oil painting artist, and an avid Dallas Cowboys’ fan. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, country music, and fishing, and he resided in Texas for the majority of his life. Paul was deeply admired and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Gaydos, Sr. and Agnes Pospisil Gaydos Walton, and his sister, Agnes Frances Barnes. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Natalie Dean (Brian), Rebecca Karlik (Kamon), Deana Gaydos; grandchildren, Justin (Lacey), Cole, Candice, Nicole, and Brian Jr.; sisters, Lillie Mae Shafer (R.L.), Angeline Smith (Paul), Margaret Gaines (Clayton), Pauline Strakos, Sylvia Dorothy Fuselier (Chet); brothers, Frank Jay Gaydos (Gloria), Bennie Gaydos (Mildred); great-grandchildren, Brianna and Gavin; many nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends. A celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Saturday, February 27th at the Pleasanton Church of Christ (Texas). Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Port Lavaca, Texas.
