Biography: Twilla Toney, 51, of Little Rock, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2010, after a nine month brave and determined battle with cancer. She was born in North Little Rock, Arkansas on September 8, 1958 to the late Eddie and Willie Marie Cothren. She grew up in North Little Rock and Heber Springs, Arkansas, and graduated from Ole Main High School in North Little Rock. She is preceded in death by her brother, James Troutman. She spent almost her entire adult life working for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), over 30 years, reaching the level of a Super Senior Claims Examiner. While at the VA she met her husband and after a whirlwind 3 month courtship they were married and worked together for 20 years before his retirement. During this time she traveled extensively including cruises and trips to the Caribbean. She enjoyed scuba diving and was an excellent competitive rifle shooter. She was a Baptist and had accepted God into her life as her Savior. Twilla is survived by her husband of 26 years, George Toney Jr.; her children, George Toney, III and his wife Meme, Tabatha Toney Burgess, and her husband Jerry, and many, many caring friends and family. She is also survived by her two loving dog-daughters, Mickie and Minnie Toney. A memorial service will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home on Monday, January 11, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Rather than sending flowers, please make a contribution to your favorite charity or the Pulaski County Humane Society (www.warmhearts.org) in Twilla’s name. Arrangements by Ruebel Funeral Home. George -- So sorry to hear of Twilla's passing. We saw Carolyn Dockery today (1/20/2012)and she told us. We were shocked and saddened to hear the news. Our son, Tony, died in a car accident this past year leaving behind a wife and two daughters. Needless to say, we too are grieving our loss. Hopefully you have found the strength to continue your life in a productive way and are finding comfort and peace and hopefully joy. Bless you George. Know that we care.

In 2nd Corinthians 5:6-9, we are told that when we believers are absent from this body, we are then present with the Lord. I beleive this to be true. May God bless you with comfort in this time of grief.
