Biography: Margaret Ann Evans Tippitt, 86, of Little Rock, widow of Calvin Coolidge Tippitt, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant, Arkansas after a well-lived Christian life. Margaret was born on October 16, 1923 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late William Dodds and Bertha Ann Rollins Evans. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, V. Ann Tippitt and J. Alan May, Gastonia, North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law, Charles W. and Kathy Tippitt; granddaughter and finance, April N. Tippitt and Harold Spradlin all of Little Rock; sister-in-law, Bobbie Lackey of Little Rock; 13 nieces and nephews; her church family at Baseline Missionary Baptist Church; and her newest family at Foxridge Estates in Bryant, Arkansas. Margaret loved and cared for people where she went and she leaves behind many very special friends. Margaret’s family acknowledges the compassionate care she received at Saline Memorial Hospice House. After graduating from Mabelvale High School, she worked as a studio photographer for Evans Studios and Pfeifer Studio. On May 11, 1946 she married Calvin C. Tippitt of the Center Point, Arkansas. One of her great joys were the years she worked at Baseline Baptist Daycare where she touched many young lives. Her energetic mind and loving heart were always eager to help and share with others. The greatest joy in her life was the 62 wonderful years she spent with her husband Calvin. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Foxridge Estate, 4216 Foxridge Drive (Hwy. 5) in Bryant, Arkansas. Visitation with family and friends will follow. Private family burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Tippitt meant so much to our family and our lives are better because of knowing the Tippitt family. I know that she is at peace and grateful to be reunited with Calvin. She was a good friend and neighbor to my grandparents and a second mom to my mom and another loving grandma to me and Brittany. She will be truly missed.

Margaret Tippitt was without a doubt one of the most loving individuals that I have ever known. My kids were blessed to have her as a daycare teacher at Baseline Missionary Baptist Church but double blessed because we only lived 2 streets from Margaret and Calvin. Over the years, Josh and Courtney were frequent visitors at "Grandma and Grandpa's" house. I find pease in knowing that Margaret has once again been reunited with her Calvin. The children in Heaven are smiling because Ms. Margaret is now loving on each and every one of them along with teaching them how to skip and tie their shoes. My prayers are with the family.

Ann, you are in our prayers. After we heard of the news about Mrs. Tippitt our hearts were saddened. We enjoyed getting to know your mother and father. They were sweet neighbors to us. We love them but God loves them best. She's gone on to a better place where we must have to take this step alone. Just know that your mom is very proud of you and wish the best for her family. I will miss her very much. We will have to keep in touch. Love, Lawanaka

Ann, Charlie, and family, your loss is definatly Heaven's gain. I am so glad to have the assurance of knowing that the seperation is only temporary. I do have to smile when I think of the huge family reunion that I know is going on up there. I feel I was so blessed to have had her as an Aunt and have so many wonderful memories of all the times I spent at your house as a kid. She really knew how to entertain kids.

I remember Mrs. Tippitt from Baseline Baptist daycare when I went there. I don't remember a lot since it was so long ago, but she is one person I do remember. She was a very sweet lady and loved every child as her own. I am glad that she is in a better place now. I saw that she was at Saline Memorial Hospice. I know that she was taken care of there her last days because my grandpa stayed there until he passed away. That place is a Godsend, especially for the family. May God bless you during this time of loss and help you reflect on her wonderful life of dedication to God.

Margaret was our aunt & we are going to miss her so much. We were all blessed to have her as part of our family. She had a knack for making people feel important & special....that is because they were to her. Margaret touched so many lives & you knew you could always count on her to be there for you. Oh & she loved to tell stories about the things that had happened in her life....gosh I'm going to miss her stories, She was a jewel....

As sad as we are to not have her with us any longer, we know she is with the Lord & her sweet Calvin, her parents & her big brother. I know we will see her once again when we get to heaven & can hear all the stories she has to tell us. :-)

Love you, you sweet lady!

My deepest sympathy to Mrs. Tippitt's family. Both my girls attended Baseline Baptist Daycare and Mrs. Tippitt was their favorite. She was one of the special people that loved working with children and the children knew they were loved.

I could write a book about my Aunt Margaret. She was my favorite aunt. She was only 16yrs. old when I was born and she spoiled me rotten. We were like the "Walton" family, my grandparents, Aunt Margaret and my parents all lived in the same house. She would take me to school on "special" days and I even went on dates with her and Uncle Calvin which I'm sure that made it special for him. Every summer I would catch a bus from L.R. and ride all by myself to Jacksonville to spend a few days with Aunt Margret and Uncle Calvin after they got married. She always made me feel so special. I've noticed that about "Special People" they make other people feel special. I know she was always special in our family and will remain a part of our lives. She touched so many lives, we can all learn from her life. As Uncle Calvin told me when I left from visiting him a couple days before he died, "I'll see you soon", Aunt Margret.

Aunt Margaret was one of a kind and I am sure going to miss her! She was one of a kind and fun to be around! In fact she could get you in trouble to! She could sure tell you some stories that I will miss. I never remember not seeing a smile on her face and joy coming out of her for the love other people! The bible talks about how we should be Christ like and she is one person that was Christ like. I know that Uncle Calvin and grandpa were so ready to see her! We will miss her but will see her again! You are in my prayers during this time!

Ann,
I learned first-hand that when we lose our mothers, we lose a part of our identity. Yet at the same time, the torch is passed, and we find such strength in knowing that our mothers, great women of faith, are in paradise surrounded by a peace that we cannot imagine. You be at peace this Christmas time, for your beautiful mother has front-row seats at the most glorious celebration of all. It must be absolutely wonderful. I am certain that she has always been so very proud of you, and rightfully so. May be birth of our precious savior be a beacon of hope, faith, and joy as you celebrate the life of this most beloved lady! You are in my thoughts and prayers. Janie
