Biography: "Bach gave us God's Word. Mozart gave us God's Laughter. Beethoven gave us God's Fire. God gave us music that we might pray without words." In Divine order, love, and Light, Edmonda Alleyene Mercer Logue, born on January 11, 1918, in Milton, Kansas, made her grace-filled transition on December 19, 2009, into a new dimension of her soul's journey. She is preceded in spiritual transcendence by her beloved husband, Richard Marcus Logue, M.D., and her dearly devoted son, Marcus Worth Logue. "Eddie" was a loving, supportive wife and a steadfastly adoring Mother. Her tapestry of life was richly woven before and after graduating from Kansas University School of Music with continuing accolades as a superb vocalist with the New York City Opera and the Fred Waring Chorale and various other musical venues after WWII. With a radiant smile and sage witticisms, she was an accomplished culinary entertainer, seamstress, needle-work artist, painter, traveler, avid collector of antiques and dolls, ardent student of metaphysics, and an eloquent communicator verbally and through her writing. Her beautiful mind and hands were always busy creating joy for her family's life and in extending unselfish service and compassion to numerous individuals and to local and national organizations throughout her spiritually-motivated human experience. Mrs. Logue was a loving and spiritual guide and role model to daughters Lynne Logue Dowler and husband Donald, Martha Josephine Logue, her devoted and compassionate care-giver for the last 2½ years, and to son Charles Michael Logue and wife Barbara, including five children and two great-grandchildren. Adorable" Angel" was her constant canine companion as well as sweet "Sophie". She also leaves her loving sister and brother, Evelyn Mercer Etzel and John (Jack) Mercer and their families. The family extends abundant gratitude and blessings to the staff of St. Vincent Infirmary. A private family service has already been performed.
