Biography: Anne Benton Johnson of Little Rock, 76, passed away on Saturday December 5, 2009. She was born on July 16th, 1933 to the late Robert Austin Benton and Ledora (Dode) Ford Benton, of Lonoke. She was raised in Lonoke, Arkansas where attended high school and graduated in 1951. She attended Arkansas State Teachers college (UCA) for 2 years where she earned the nickname “Sack-It” from all her friends. She was also a member of the Delta Zeta sorority. After college she worked for Stebbins and Roberts Paint Company in Little Rock for a number of years before marrying her husband Pat and moving to West Memphis. Her true passions in life were her family and friends, her church (St. James UMC), playing bridge on Wednesdays and her grand daughter. She is survived by her loving and caring husband of 46 years, Pat Johnson of Little Rock, one son Benton Johnson and his wife Leslie, one grand daughter Kathleen Johnson, all of Conway. There is a memorial service at St. James United Methodist Church on December 9th, 2009 at 3:00 PM. A Private Burial of Ashes will be at Roselawn Cemetery at a later date..
