Biography: Susan Ann Smith, age 66 of Fort Smith, AR passed away at home surrounded by her family on December 5th. She was born in St. Louis, Mo on March 17th, 1943 to Maxine Tarrant and the late Robert Rushing. She is survived by her brother; Mark Rushing; sister, Lisa VanDenheuvel; daughter, Stacey Curzon and her husband Cary and their children Austin and Andrew of Little Rock, AR.; son Brian Smith and his wife Karen and their children Olivia, Abby and Lauren of Greenville, SC.; and son Eric Smith and his wife Amy and their children Emma and Harrison of Chicago, Ill. She graduated from Southwest Missouri State in Springfield, Mo with a degree in education. Children were her love and she taught preschool for many years until she began her career in Real Estate. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith, AR where she served as a Stephens Minister. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, Fort Smith, AR on Saturday, December 19th, at 2:00pm in the afternoon. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church Pre-School, Fort Smith, AR. Susan was the dearest little person....always so full of fun and mischief! I can't imagine the world without her....sigh....she will be greatly missed.

To her family and friends, Susan will be missed by everyone who knew her. With always a smile and wonderful personality, everyone loved Susan. To her family "may you all know how wonderful she thought of you" She was always talking with pride about her kids and grandkids. Please know how very blessed she felt because of you all.

Susan and my mother were such good friends for so long that I called her Mom#2! She was s wonderful person that never met a stranger. She is was one of those special people who was loved and cherished my many and will be truly missed. In so many ways, she was an inspiration to us all.

Oh! Susan, what are we going to do, you were always the life of our office, your laughter was infectious, and if business was slow, we could always count on you to get us back on track. Never a dull moment. We all loved you and will miss you. May God bless you and your family.
