Biography: Mary Berneda Osborne, 92, of Little Rock, widow of Richard Osborne, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2009. She was born October 6, 1917 in Manila, Arkansas to the late Minnie Lou Watkins and Ira Watkins. A long time resident of Blytheville, Arkansas, Berneda was a graduate of Arkansas State University and a former school teacher and homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Pathfinders Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Kathryn Buck, Helen Harker, Betty Amick and Faye Brown. Berneda is survived by her two daughters; Sue Gaskin of Little Rock and Mary Lou Rodman and husband Tasker of Little Rock; grandchildren, Ashley Rankin and husband Jim of Little Rock, Laura Ross and husband Donnie of Little Rock, Mary Kathryn Lochala and husband Rod of Newport, Brooke Mays and husband Tom of Bryant and Richard Vanhook and wife Rachel of Benton; great-grandchildren, Will, Clara and Annie Rankin, Megan Ross, Mary Mills and Abby Lochala, Thomas and Emily Mays and Finley Vanhook; and a special caregiver Nettie Mae Reynolds. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville, Arkansas with Reverend Donald L. Hall, Jr. officiating.
