We had many, many good times with Bill at The "Band Box" - lotsa burgers and many beers were had by all, not to mention all the fun and memories all of us will always cherish. He was always a good friend as well as great counsel in time(s) of need.
The "Box" was never the same without all of us and Bill.
Just want to let you know that our thoughts and prayers will be with you all in your time of sorrow. He will be greatly missed.

My condolences to Robyn and Chuck. I just read about your fathers death. I remember you Chuck from playing ball at Robinson. Your father was a good man.

When he lived out off Hwy 10 and he was a stepfather to Chasity, our youngest daughter who was very close friends to Chasity would spend many weekends there. She remembers him as such a sweet and kind man. He would always ask the girls if they had the money they needed for whatever they were going to do, did they have a way to get where they wanted to go. Just always concerned that they were okay.

Once when she had gone somewhere she didn't need to be, with people she did't need to be around, and she ended up at his house... he called us. He was worried about her and he talked with her. He "scolded" her in the most kind and loving way I have ever seen. He helped her to understand why her actions were not a good choice. I think she was more remorseful because she had worried him than she was us. She thought he was an awesome father and man.....her father and I agree. God Bless you all.

Working for Bill and Phoebe was by far the best job ever! Bill would let me do whatever I wanted, Phoebe, however, would not.
Still, it was the best. Bill will truly be missed.

Over the years I came to know Mr. McArthur through my dear friend, Phoebe Jones. He was an attorney representing those people who lost their way. he defended them passionately and without prejudice. The law was an honorable profession to him and the judicial system a way of life. May he rest in the assurance that God rewards all good deeds.

I have known Bill McArthur vicariously through my friend Phoebe. He had great patience and understanding as her family experienced illness and death over the years and I was always very impressed by his compassion for her and her family. I would like to extend the same sympathy to his family at this time.

Arkansas has lost a legend in the legal world. At a time when women in the work force were considered to be 'just' secretaries, Bill let my sister, Phoebe, shine as he taught her the ins and outs of criminal law. He was her best friend as well as employer. She believed in him until his death and I know he will be forever in her heart. My deepest sympathy goes out to all his friends and family.

In September 1974 I went to work for a great attorney, Bill McArthur. I spent the next 34 years working for him. Through the years with many ups and downs, not only was Bill my employer but also my best friend. It was truly an honor to have known this man and to have been his assistant. It is with this honor and respect, that I say my last good-bye.
