Biography: Mr. Bruce Guy Thompson, 51, of Quitman, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2009. He was born January 21, 1958 in Tacoma, Washington to the late Colonel John Homer and Mrs. Shirley Carr Thompson. He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Mrs. Rebecca Edith Thompson; daughter Mrs. Susan Samantha Pedersen, husband Mr. Jacob Daniel Pedersen, and son Joseph Ian Pedersen of Conway, AR; daughter Mrs. Lauren Sterling Williamson, husband Mr. Luke Allen Williamson, daughter Hannah Faith Williamson, and one child on the way of Conway, AR; daughter Mrs. Catherine Carnell Lee and husband First Lieutenant Jonathan James Lee of Little Rock, AR; son Cameron Michael Thompson of Quitman, AR; brother Mr. Jay Scott Thompson, wife Mrs. Linda Snyder Thompson, and son Kyle Scott Thompson of Mattoon, IL; step-mother Ms. Patricia Thompson of Knoxville, TN; sister Mrs. Kim Morris, husband Mr. Bob Morris, and children Louis, Allan, and Paula Morris of Knoxville, TN; sister Mrs. Carey Grace Jackson, husband Mr. Jason Jackson, and one child on the way of San Antonio, TX; uncle, Mr. George Washington Thompson and wife Mrs. Jean Thompson of San Antonio, TX, and son Mr. John William Thompson of Austin, TX; aunt Mrs. Lorraine Carr and family of Portland, RI; cousins Mr. Jeff and Mr. Mike Milster and families of St. Louis, MO; sister-in-law Ms. Susan Shaw and son Mr. Fletcher Shaw of Oklahoma City, OK; sister-in-law Mrs. Marguerite Tyson, husband Mr. Terry Tyson, and family of Higgins, TX; brother-in-law Mr. Scott Shaw, wife Mrs. Stephanie Shaw, and children of Oklahoma City, OK; and sister-in-law Ms. Sally Shaw of Oklahoma City, OK. Mr. Thompson was a Fine Artist. He attended the University of Texas in Austin and the Colorado Institute of Art in Denver. He enjoyed hiking, skiing, repelling, guitar, mountain biking, and wilderness camping. He was also a member of Grace Fellowship Bible Church in Conway, AR. Mr. Thompson will be remembered for his strong faith and walk with God, his quick wit and humor, and his loving nature and character. A visitation will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home, 6313 West Markham Street, Little Rock, AR, on Friday, September 25, 2009, from 5:00 to 7:00 in the evening (www.ruebelfuneralhome.com). The funeral service will be on Saturday, September 26, 2009, at 2:00 in the afternoon at Grace Bible Fellowship Church in Conway, AR, officiated by Reverend John Sherman Gilliom. The burial service will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway, AR.
