Biography: Grover Robert Fowler, 88, of Little Rock passed away on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009 at Baptist Medical Center. He was born Dec. 22, 1920 in Green Sea, South Carolina. Preceded in death by his parents Mary Lue and Samuel S. Fowler and his brothers Hartford and Leo Fowler all of North Carolina. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Dorthy Mae Fowler and their daughter, Brenda, brother Roy and his wife Alease Fowler of North Carolina and sister Bernice and husband Roy Faucett of Cabot, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Grover was a World War II veteran and received the Bronze Medal and Purple Heart for his valiant service in the 393 Infantry during the Battle of the Bulge and D-Day. Grover had an associate degree from Arkansas-Little Rock Junior College. He was a buyer and store manager for Sterling Department stores, Magic Mart and Wal-Mart. Visitation is Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Ruebel Funeral Home, 6313 West Markham from 5-7 p.m. The family will have a private burial service.
