Biography: Julia Ann Landers Griffin of Little Rock, formerly of Fayetteville, passed away August 14, 2009, at the age of 71, after battling a long illness. She was born to Don B. Landers and Helen K. Bogart Landers on December 9, 1937. She was a Methodist by faith. Julia was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister Billie Weide of Long Beach, California. Julia had a good life. She graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1956, and married her husband later that same year. She was chosen to attend Girls State as a representative of Fayetteville High. For most of her life, Julia was a homemaker. However, when her husband, Fred M. Griffin, started his own Architectural firm in 1980, she worked as his assistant, including doing the interior design for buildings designed by her husband. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking and bird watching. Julia is survived by her husband, sons Don Griffin (Debbie) of Fort Smith and Todd Griffin (Melodie) of Little Rock, and grandchildren Greyson Griffin, Lauren Griffin, Brandon Griffin and Julia Ann “Annie” Griffin. Based on Julia’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. The family is planning a private gathering and celebration of her life.
