Biography: Robert Ross Wright, III, 74, of Little Rock, died Sunday night following a courageous battle with a debilitating illness. Husband of United States District Judge Susan Webber Wright, Bob was born November 20, 1931, in Fort Worth, Texas. He received a B.A. degree from the University of Arkansas where he served two terms as president of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, a M.A. degree from Duke University, a J.D. degree from the University of Arkansas and a S.J.D. from the University of Wisconsin. Bob achieved excellence in all aspects of the legal world, specializing in property and land use law, once serving on the Little Rock Planning Commission. He also served as Dean of the University of Oklahoma Law School, as Special Justice for the Supreme Court of Arkansas, as Chair of the General Practice section of the American Bar Association, and as Donaghey Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law. Author of numerous text-books and articles, Bob’s accomplishments and legacy will prove lasting. This week he was to have received recognition as a fifty year member of the Arkansas Bar Association. In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by four children; Robert (“Buddy”) Wright, IV, and wife Brenda of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, John and David Wright both of Little Rock, Robin Wright of Little Rock, a brother Stewart A. Wright of Houston, Texas, 4 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of friends. There will be a funeral service Wednesday, June 7th, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral officiated by The Very Reverend Henry Hudson and Reverend Phillip Jones.
