Biography: Evelyn Jeanette Fowler, age 84, of Little Rock, died July, 19, 2009 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born on April 27, 1925 to the late Sam and Rettie Lee Simmons. She was a member of the PEO, a member and past President of the Butler Upper Room Class as well as an honorary member of the Board of Stewards at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church. Taking care of her three daughters was her occupation and she loved and excelled in it. Jeanette enjoyed Razorback games and trips to the lake. She loved being with her friends, especially her sewing club, birthday group, and her golfing buddies. Some of her best times were spent with her brothers and sisters at reunions and on trips. Jeanette is survived by two daughters, Barbara Fowler Newsom and her husband Ed of Keller, TX, and Kathy Fowler Morse of Little Rock, AR, her third daughter, Nancy Fowler Raney preceded her in death. She is also survived by the father of her children, Charles W. Fowler, by her former son in law, Floyd Raney, her brothers and sisters, Marguerite Brownlee, Jimmy Simmons and his wife Sunny, Bob Simmons and his wife Betty, Dick Simmons and his wife Gean, and Donna Dicicco, her grandchildren, Chris Newsom, Michelle Irwin, Hannah Carrithers, Sarah McClure, Wesley Raney and Jessica Chandler. Jeanette has six great grandchildren. Jeanette was visited often by her many nieces and nephews and loved them all. The family would like to thank a host of care givers and institutions who provided care for Jeanette; Baylor Grapevine Hospital, Dr. Ericka Barthel, Dr. Richard Hazen and the nursing staff, Ethicus in Grapevine and nurses, John, Washington, Vastine, Amy, Matt, Tiffany and Lindsey; the James L. West Center in Fort Worth, Dr. Janice Knebl, and nurses Linda and Diane and hospice nurses Jackie Smith, Jenny Wehrfritz, and Pat Stroope. Caregivers are like family at these special times and there are no words to thank them enough for their love and care. A big hug to Katie Page, Cynthia Lowe, Marilyn Rolf, Darlene Cole, and Delores Walker. The family particularly appreciates the long term service and friendship of Val Alexander. Funeral services will be held at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church on Friday at 1:00 PM, a reception will follow in the parlor. Burial will be at 3:30 in the Gazebo at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
