Biography: Pollyanna Hubbs Farris, widow of Robert Norman Farris, died on Monday, July 20, 2009, at Nursing and Rehab at Good Shepherd. Polly was born to Vida Walker Hubbs and John Lockett Hubbs in Green Forest, Arkansas, on April 12, 1929. She was a valued volunteer in the campaigns of J. William Fulbright, Winthrop Rockefeller, and Jim Guy Tucker. She worked for the Arkansas Arts Center, the American Red Cross, and as a party planner. She also served on the board of the Little Rock Port Authority. Her husband, Norm, passed away in 1981 and Polly devoted her life to political interests, traveling, friends, family, and her very spoiled dogs. Polly is predeceased by her parents, her brother, Jack Hubbs, and a sister, Lorraine Hubbs. She is survived by her sister, Vella Pearsall, her niece, Valerie Pearsall (Rich Roy), her nephews Jim Pearsall (Ivy) and his daughter Lila, and John Pearsall, M.D. (Lee) and their children, Jill and Graham, her niece Jana Ringgold and nephew Kel Farris who were very dear to her. The family extends special thanks to Anna Towell, who was Polly’s caregiver for five years. We also thank her caregiver Sandy Shor and the staff of Good Shepherd. A graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park (2801 Asher Avenue) Friday, July 24, at 10:00 a.m. with the Reverend Donna Hankins-Hall officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, July 23, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Ruebel Funeral Home (6313 W. Markham St.). Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Arts Center or the Arkansas Repertory Theater.
