Wow--I have signed too many of these condolence books in the past few months...first Bob G., then Tom S. and now Leroy. I remember every time I got a mention in Whispers I felt like I had won the lottery. And those nights at the Afterthought after Follies...well...if you were there, you know what I mean. Godspeed, Leroy.

I worked with Leroy at the El Dorado paper in 1960.
He was all the things I have read in this condolence book then. The years did not change him. When the offer for a job came from the Arkansas Gazette for a job, he said I am not sure about moving. I told him he had no choice he must take the job. I was very sad to see him go. We did play a little tennis from time to time.

Leroy Donald was truly "one of a kind"! - a unique, talented and very funny man-child who brightened life's journey for all who knew him. He was a great journalist at many levels - who was trusted by all - and that's why and how he got so many great stories. For over three decades he brought humor and revealed truths in HIS Farkleberry Follies. His talent was worthy of Broadway.

Most of all he was a true and fantastic friend to so many: to me for 42 years.

Farkle on Leroy!
