Wanda had an incredible zest for life and loved others. Even as her cancer progressed she didn’t focus on herself but would ask her visitors about themselves. Wanda taught American history at Parkview High School in Little Rock from 1969 until 1984. Wanda loved History, teaching, reading and traveling. Wanda was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Winfield United Methodist Church for over sixty years. We were saddened to read about Wanda's death and extend our sympathy to all the family, knowing she will be missed.

We met Bob through our work for the Arkansas Press Association, and got to know Wanda through gatherings of ASAE over the 25 years were were at APA. She was a special lady and will be remembered as a warm and caring person with a gentle humor and catching smile.

Ms. Wimberly was my history teacher @ Parkview 1975-76. She was a true delight. She truly loved what she was doing and I do appreciate what she taught me. She used to come to work in costume sometime to make us understand history, A delightful and classy lady. Please know that God is with you all and time does heal. Lean on the Lord. I speak from personal experience. God bless.

My condolences to the Wimberley family. Wanda was my world history teacher for my senior year at Parkview in 1981. She was my favorite because she didn't just teach world history, she lived it. Our class was treated to pictures of Wanda and Bob from all over the world, and it seemed she had been everywhere. Incredible zest for life, indeed! Even though it has been so many years, I will never forget Miss Wim! Laurie, I hope you're doing well also, perhaps you remember me from the Arkansas State/Sigma Pi days.

I am a former student of Mrs. Wimberley's, and remember her well. I especially remember her passion for history, even these 35 years later. She touched many lives.

I was sorry to read about Mrs. Wimberley's passing. She was my history teacher at Parkview, 1976 grad. During my year in her class I ask her if she would like for my aunt to come to class and show slides, see how long ago that was, about her trip to Russia. Mrs. Wimberley was so glad to have an outside speaker help her teach a class. I will never forget how entertaining she was in teaching us History.
My thoughts will be with you in the coming days, weeks and months. Regina Edmonson
