Biography: Patrick Joseph Booth died Friday, May 15, 2009. He was 75. Pat was surrounded by family and friends during his final days. "Mr. Pat", as he was fondly called by his friends, was born in little Rock on February 20, 1934. His parents, Ben and Ann Booth preceded him in death. Pat attended Catholic school in little Rock and graduated from Subiaco Academy. He was a lifetime Catholic and a member of Our Lady of the Holy Souls Church. Mr. Pat had a strong work ethic which provided him an impressive career over his lifetime. He began by working in the family sheet metal business and later became a farmer in Roland where he and his family were named Arkansas Farm Family of the Year. Pat was very dedicated to the 4-H organization. After many years of farming, Pat began a new business, Riverside Marine on Cantrell Road. Riverside Marine, an outboard motor service company, quickly became successful both in the central Arkansas area and throughout the country with major contracts. Pat was an avid sportsman, and hunting white-tailed deer was a favorite pastime. He also enjoyed boating and traveling and spent much time in his later years on his houseboat and RV. Mr. Pat had countless friends and was always available to help anyone who needed him. "Let all your things be done with charity." 1 Corinthians 16:14. Pat is survived by his wife, Patsy Booth, the love of his life and his constant companion for the past 26 years. He is survived by his children, Mike Booth of Roland, Tom Booth (Kim) of Scott, Ann Booth Hollings (Doug) of Little Rock, Ben Booth of Baton Rouge, LA, Vince Booth (Hilda) of Little Rock, Scott Cameron (Lori) of Ashville, NC, and Sonja Foster (Chuck) of Atlanta, GA. Pat loved and was immensely proud of all his grandchildren. He had become especially close to his three youngest granddaughters, Elizabeth Reid Booth, Sally Max Marie Cameron, and Sydney Lane Cameron. Pat is also survived by his sisters, Grace, Helen, and Mildred, and his brother, Leon. Mr. Pat and his family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Gail McCracken and Dr. Mark Dyer for their care. The unconditional love and support of his son, Vince will never be forgotten by Miss Pat. Special thanks to Simon Robinson, Mr. Pat’s close friend for many years. There will be a visitation at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 18, at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church, with a rosary said at 10:30 a.m. and a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
