Biography: Theodosia Jane Cast Simmons, 67, of Little Rock, sweet child of God, passed away Monday in Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock after a long struggle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Bill; a daughter, Theodosia Jane “Teddi” Cole of Little Rock and her husband Troy; a son, William Tobias “Toby” Simmons of Little Rock and his wife Penny; a sister, Truda Hubble of Hot Springs Village and her husband Robert; a brother, Herschel Cast Jr. of Little Rock; and six grandchildren. Born Nov. 18, 1941, in Newport, she was the daughter of the late Herschel Cast and Theodosia Jane Bandy Cast of Newport and Little Rock. A graduate of Little Rock University, she was a member of the Bible Church of Little Rock, where she was a volunteer receptionist prior to the onset of serious health issues. She distinguished herself in lifelong bonds of love with friends Linda and Bruce Pemberton (and Lisa) of Alexander, Judi and Ronnie Clifford of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and Jamie and Kenny Castleberry of Little Rock, not to mention the Magnolias (Kathy, Dal, Anita, and Mary Lou). Best of wives, best of mothers, best of friends –that was Jane. Her kindly disposition, helpful counsel, and forgiving spirit made it easy for offenders to repent. With her passing, a gentle light has left this realm to adorn a better one. A visitation will be held Wednesday May 6, 2009 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ruebel Funeral Home. Funeral service is Thursday May 7, 2009 at 1130 a.m. in The Bible Church of Little Rock located at 19111 Cantrell Rd. It will be followed by internment at Pinecrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Pulaski County Humane Society. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com

Dear Bill, Teddy and Toby, No one could have provided a more precious period of time than you all have given to Jane since her illness. I treasure the last week watching you all love your Mother and my dear friend right to the very last moment. What a learning experience for me. Jane was a dear and special soul. She always knew the right thing to say or do at the right moment...with that special twinkle in her eyes. Thankfully she is painfree now in the arms of her Savior. Love and hugs, Judi
