Biography: Carroll F. Ball, age 81, died at home on Thursday, March 5. He was born June 18, 1927 at Amagon, Arkansas. The son of the late Fred and Zetta Ball, he was raised at Newport. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1950. Mr. Ball worked for seven years as a geologist for Reynolds mines and for over thirty-four years as an engineer for the City of Little Rock. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two children, Fred Ball and his wife, Sarah, of Little Rock, and Becky VanShoubrouek and her husband, Joe, of Nacogdoches, Texas; four grandchildren, Kelsey, Laney, Wesley, and Mary Clare; and two step-granddaughters, Katie and Hannah. Visitation will be at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock on Sunday, March 8, from 4 to 6 p.m. Graveside services will be at Pinecrest Cemetery on Monday, March 9, at 10:30 a.m., with the Reverend Jim Schratz officiating.
