Biography: Robert Joseph Doland, 90, of Little Rock died February 23, 2009. He was born to Ed Doland and Mildred Norris in Plainview Texas on February 4, 1919. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Edith Watt. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Frances Doland. His daughter Deborah and husband Kent Burnett, son Robert Woodrow Doland and wife Kathy. Grandson Brian and wife Dawn of Conway and granddaughter Elizabeth and husband John of New Orleans, great-grandchildren; Marianne, T. J. and Robyn Burnett and several nieces and nephews. Robert graduated in 1941 from Virginia Military Institute. He served in the army in World War II as a Captain. He was a chemist with Monsanto in St. Louis and came to Little Rock in 1957 to work at Olin & Mathieson. After retiring he bought the Bryant Bureau; an executive search agency. Later he went to Egypt and Israel to study Tilapia for commercial farming in the United States. He was an Eagle Scout and a life member of the American Chemical Society. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church.
