We knew Phyllis for over 30 years. She was "GaGa" to our family as our boys seemed to grow up together. She nurtured all of us in her "Great Kansas Lady" style. We always looked forward to her frequent visits to Little Rock. Her talent of always having a good story to share was one of her greatest attributes. Will always remember the times when Cecil would sing barber shop in the car when we would go out on the town! She is gone but not forgotten.

In 1962 I was hired as the Hiawatha High School principal, where fortunately for me, Phyllis was my secretary.
She was loved and appreciated by students, faculty, and myself.
I have had numerous secretaries since Phyllis, however she is the only one that I have continued to keep in touch with. Love you and will miss our telephone chats.

I had the extreme pleasure of doing Phyllis's hair every friday morning at 11 a.m. She was such a pleasure to visit with and never was lacking of funny stories to tell about her "girls" and grandkids.

I think the funniest stories were the ones of years past and her girls growing up and Cecil working at the bank. I'll always remember those stories and find myself telling them to ppl and they get as big a laugh out of them as I did.

She has been truly missed by the community here in Hiawatha. Words cannot express how much I've missed her. I broke her foot and she still liked me!!! :)

I hope that Phyllis's family can recall those wonderul memories and that those memories carry them through these difficult times.

Sincerely.
Amy Long

Phyllis will never be forgotten by me. I have some of her recipes which I still use. A quilted
pillow which she made and gave to me sits in one
of the chairs in my living room. We played in the same Bridge Club for 26 years and enjoyed many evenings out with three other couples in Hiawatha. I send my sincere condolences to all of you family members. She was a wonderful lady
and a very special friend. Many of us loved her
dearly. Betty Casselman Bradford

Although I saw Phyllis only several times while she visited at Susam's home, I found her to be a witty, outgoing person. She was delightful to be around. May she rest in peace and condolences to the family.

Mary, Susan, and families-Your mom & dad played huge roles in our lives growing up since your mom worked with our dad, Bob Moser, and they both were close friends of our parents. We always called them "Cyllis & Phecil" ! We will always remember them lovingly! Phyllis was a "classy" lady! Our sympathies to all of you.

Susan my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Your mom was at Gran Villas at the same time mine was and it was so good to see her again. She was still a really elegant lady. Again I am thinking of you at this time of sorrow. Jo

I was with Phyllis in our little investment club and did not know her that well, but loved her sense of humor, her determination and how she always kept herself looking so good! She is missed by many friends, I know. My heartfelt condolences to all your family.

Dear Susan and Mary,

I will always think of your Mother as an "Angel".
The angel that still adorns the top of my Christmas
Tree was made many years ago by Phyllis. I treasure
it as well as her memory. She was such a special
lady.

GOD BLESS you all,

Nanci

We have known Phyllis for many, many years, as her parents & my parents, Ernest & Gladys Burgert,
were good friends, having lived just a block apart in Horton, KS.
