Biography: Marion Kaplan, 96, of Little Rock, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2008. She was born October 10, 1912 in Russia to Simon and Clara Sherman. She is survived by her sons, Philip (Ruth) of Little Rock and Gary (Judy) of Lynn, Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Myer Kaplan, and by her parents and her brothers, George and Charles Sherman. In addition to her sons, she is survived by her grandchildren, Andrew (Sheryl), Julie, Michelle (Peter), Linda and Deborah, and by her great-grandchildren, Owen, Jamie, Alex, Emily and Matthew. She immigrated to this country and settled first in Palmerton, Pennsylvania, where her parents had a men’s clothing store. After graduating from high school, she moved to Lynn, Massachusetts, where she met her husband, Myer. For many years, they operated a kosher food manufacturing business under the name Myer’s Kosher Kitchen. She and her husband and son Gary operated that business for many years, manufacturing and distributing kosher food products in the greater Boston area. She worked hard her entire life and was able, together with husband and son, to grow a successful business. Burial will be in Everett, Massachusetts, and a memorial service at Little Rock will be arranged at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Arkansas Hospice.
