Biography: R. Joyce Boswell, 81 of Little Rock died Wednesday, November 12, 2008. She was born March 8, 1927, in Denton, Texas, and was the eldest of two sisters and a brother born to the late W.C. and Ruby Blankenship. Mrs. Boswell was a long time member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Mrs. Boswell was predeceased by her husband William R. (Bill) Boswell. She is survived by her daughter Anita Williams and son-in-law Dennis Williams of Arkadelphia; her son William C. (Buddy) Boswell of Hahira, GA.; two sisters Ann Clark of McKinney, TX, Sue Harwell of Lubbock, TX , and a brother W.C. Blankenship of Dallas, TX.; three grandchildren, Whitney Williams of Brooklyn, New York, Todd Boswell, his wife Megan, and great- granddaughter Macy of North Little Rock, Kellie Clements, her husband Richard and great-grandson Schaefer of Yukon, OK and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In April, 1968 Mrs. Boswell founded the Sketch Box Gallery. It soon became one of the largest private galleries and custom frame shops in the mid-South. The funeral service will be held in the chapel at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 1000 N. Mississippi in Little Rock at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 14. Following internment, members of Mrs. Boswell’s family will receive friends at the Church Parish Hall. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Presbyterian Village, or Arkansas Hospice.
