Biography: Helen Dunn Bruton, 92, of Santa Rosa, California, died September 8, 2008. She was born in Little Rock to the late Elmer and Edna Dunn. She was married to Charles Bruton living happily together until Charles’ death in 1975. They lived in Denver, Colorado, where he worked, and before that, for many years in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Helen worked intermittently out of the home in various secretarial jobs, teaching school very early on, but most of her life was spent as a homemaker. In California, she lived for about fifteen years in Burlingame, and was a member of Burlingame Methodist Church as a member and Sunday School Teacher. In 1996 she moved to Portland, Oregon to be with her son Clark, later moving back to Santa Rosa, California to be with her son Gary. She is survived by her two sons; Clark Bruton and Gary Bruton and their families, she is predeceased by her two sisters; Mildred Dunn Wright and Marjorie Dunn Gilleland. There will be a memorial service Friday, October 3, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Lynn Lindsey.
