Biography: Jack Buford Bracy of Little Rock went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2008. He was a faithful member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church and the Deitz Dialog Sunday School Class. Jack was born on December 13, 1926, to Buford and Elizabeth Bracy. He graduated from Little Rock High School, then the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in 1949 after a brief time in the U.S. Navy. He was a Tau Beta Pi honor student, earning a BS degree in Civil Engineering. He was also president of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He is survived by wife Janie Brainerd Bracy, three children; Betsy Foss of St. Augustine, FL, Mike and Bob Bracy of Little Rock, five grandchildren; Jamie Reinheimer of Orange Park, FL, John, Stephen, Drew, and Alison Bracy, all of Little Rock, brother Gene Bracy of Hot Springs, and niece Carol Freeman of Dallas. Jack was in the construction business for over 50 years. He was a past president of the Greater Little Rock Home Builders Assn. and the owner of Bracy Development Company. He built numerous homes in the Little Rock area, developed several residential subdivisions, and built apartment complexes for cities all over Arkansas and surrounding states. Later in his career, he also was in construction & engineering management with three large development companies in Arkansas and Florida. A memorial service will be held at 10:00am Monday August 18 at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church. A private family burial service will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
