Biography: Mytus (Mike) King, 96, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 20, 2008. He was born February 17, 1912 in Redfield, Ark., to the late Frank and Willie Mae King. Mike served as a Chief Petty Officer with the U.S. Navy during WWII. Before the war, he ran a service station in Little Rock. After the war, he worked for and retired from Arkansas Power and Light. Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Lyda Quattlebaum King; four brothers, Paul, Durward, Carl, and Howard King; one sister, Edith King Kidd. Surviving him are three nephews, Dr. Gerald Kidd of Las Cruces, NM, James Kidd of Austin, TX, Larry Quattlebaum of Little Rock; four nieces, Rebecca King Simmons of Little Rock, Rosemary King Bryant of Sherwood, Judy King of Little Rock, and Altha Finefield of Memphis, TN. Mike was a Deacon of Natural Steps Baptist Church. He taught Sunday School for many years. A Church he loved very much where he had many friends. Visitation will be Thursday, July 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2008 at Natural Steps Baptist Church, Roland, AR with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, Little Rock. Mr. King was a very special person. When I was in elementary school and decided to accept Jesus Christ as my personal saviour, Mr. King asked me to become his prayer partner. I am sure that he has continued to pray for me since then and now I will pray for his family and friends in this time of loss. God Bless You.
