Biography: Ruth Riley Woodsmall O’Briant, age 86 of Little Rock, died Saturday, June 28, 2008. She was born in Little Rock to the late Katherene Buster and H.G. Woodsmall. She was also predeceased by her sister, Margaret Barnes. Mrs. O’Briant graduated from Little Rock High 1939, and attended Draughn School of Business. She devoted her life to making sure children were safe – in her personal life and through her job. Ruth was a retired state employee as the supervisor of Safety Responsibility. She considered herself a Christian first and a lifelong Methodist second. Mrs. O’Briant is survived by her son Bill O’Briant, niece Beverly Malcom and her son Kevin, and nephew Bud Barnes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, 800 Marshall, Little Rock, AR 72202, in honor of John Hardin Bale IV and the Bale family. Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 1 at Walnut Grove Cemetery.

So very sorry to hear about Ms.Ruthie. Jackie and I enjoyed our visit with her on Tuesday. I have many wonderful memories of your family from our growing up together. Stay strong, savor the memories, cry when you feel like crying and laugh when you feel like laughing. She'll always be in your heart.
