Brother Eubanks,

"The greatest sweetener of human life is friendship. To raise this to the highest pitch of enjoyment, is a secret which but few discover." Joseph Addison, English essayist and poet.

Ham, simply put, you knew and shared the secret of friendship more intimately and sensitively than myself or any of the other Brothers residing in the Delta Tau House in 1977, 1978 and 1979 could possibly imagine.

Echoing Dr. Kirby, I'll miss you, too, at Sig 2010.

In hoc signo vinces,

Steve Holcombe

What a tragedy to lose such a young vibrant man so early! Ham allowed me one year of experience as dean of student life at Westminster before he arrived in August of 1976 to keep me honest for the next four years and to become a life long friend! Sig 2010 will not be the same without him. We will salute him with a toast as he would want us to do. He personified the brotherhood that exists at our Westminster Sigma Chi chapter. We will all miss him.

Hamilton and I were neighbors at Forest Place townhouses. The two Eubanks (Hamilton and Ham)came into my life just after my father passed away, and they became my new extended "family" and were quite instrumental in the healing process after loosing a loved one. I am very blessed to have had them in my life, and I will miss Hamilton the rest of my life.

Ham, if there is anything that I can do for you, please do not hesitate to call me and I will be there for you -anytime or any place.

Please know how very sorry I was to hear of Ham's passing. It was certainly something one never expects to hear. My memories of him were of a darling little tow-headed boy who, despite being the youngest, wanted to be a part of the neighbordood gang on South Angela in Memphis! I can see Mr. Eubanks in Ham's posted picture. I would love to hear from any of you.

All of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am a fraternity brother and friend of Hamilton and I have known him for too short of a time. I will always remember his quiet strength and sense of fairness. I have laughed with him 'til I've cried. I will miss my friend and brother but know he is organizing things in preparation for the next time we meet. My deepest sympathies to Ham Jr. and Hamilton's family.

My Mom (Mary Moses Lindsey) and Ham's Mom were sisters. I remember going to Memphis to see Aunt Nancy, Uncle Bill, Lindy, Bill, and Ham when we were children. We called Ham, "Ham-bone". I remember Ham's almost white hair, and how handsome/beautiful he was as a child and an adult. That seems like yesterday.
Hamilton, you will be missed. We were raised in a time when families gathered at the drop of a hat--for every holiday!!! We all saw alot of each other.
All these messages make me cry- you are loved by many. You made an impact on so many lives. I am so very proud to be a member of our family. I so wish I was in Little Rock to be with Aunt Nancy and everyone. I know it will be a grand gathering. Say hi to everyone--we'll all be together soon.
I love and miss you, Robin

I am so sad to hear about Ham. I lived next door to Ham until they moved to Little Rock. My fondest memories are playing at the Eubanks house!! We played baseball in the front yard all summer - they never had any grass!! Mrs. Eubanks took us to the "Tropical Freeze" all the time!! It was a fun happy time in my childhood!! I haven't seen any of you in years but keep up with you through EJ. My thoughts and prayers are with you now. Love, Lea Eisenbeis Leet

I lived across the street from the Eubanks in Memphis when we were all young, and have remained a very friend of Lindy's. I will always remember playing games in the neighborhood yards until dark, the popsicle man in the round cart with a bell coming down the street, the plays we put on in the Ohman's back yard, and many other things that children cannot do today. Ham had the most beautiful blonde hair and the biggest smile in the neighborhood, and he always remembered to call my mother from the airport when he came thru Memphis. He was a fun, kind, and caring young man. You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this sad time. May your faith in God sustain you, giving you comfort for today, courage for tomorrow, and hope in your heart always.
Love, EJ Baird

Though I have known Ham for less than a year, there are some things about him that were readily apparent: He was fiercely loyal, an able friend, sensitive (sometimes to a fault), trustworthy and like all of us, still had a lot to learn about life. He was on a trek to become a better man and a more gifted father. In my small mindedness, I am frankly angry with God that he allowed the adventure to be stopped short of its finest hour. I know Ham is in a better place and that God will get over my disappointment.

My sincerest Sympathies to Ham Jr. and his family.

It was my pleasure to know Ham at Westminster and as a brother in Sigma Chi. Other than the football field, cannot recall any mean-spirited action by Ham or ever a negative comment. Have reflected over the years, when times were tough or anger at hand, Ham's ability to just "walk away".
Know he will be missed by all.

Ham was one of my pledge brothers. It was a true honor and pleasure to know him. I never heard him say a bad word about anyone, and I never met him without being greeted with enthusiastic friendship. His passing is a huge loss for all of us, and he is and will be missed greatly. I want to extend heartfelt sympathy to all of Ham's family. Ham, we are better for having known you.

May you rest in peace Ham. You were a great brother in Sigma Chi and a true gentleman. I recall your good humor, your patience, and your laughter at the crazy times we all had. Godspeed my brother, we will meet again, Skip.

I am an old friend from Hamilton's days at Westminster College. I just learned of his death and wanted to extend my deepest sympathies to everyone in his family. Words feel inadequate at a time like this . . . just know you are loved and supported by many.

Warmest Regards,

Patti

We will all miss the "Hamster" as like to call him. I will particularly miss that devilish smile and those phone calls with the first words I hear are: "What are you doing and why are you doing it?". Ham was not only a fraternity brother, but a dear friend also. I could open up to him about anything and felt he could do the same with me. We often did.

While there is an empty feeling now, my life was made more full because of my friendship with Ham.

My heart aches. I cannot believe that you are gone. You always think you have time, time to make up for stupid spats, time to work it out. I will miss you, my friend, to the depths of my soul. It is times like this that challenge all that we are and all that we believe. I have seen your kindness, enjoyed just hanging out and talking and complaining. I have seen your spirit and I know there is not another like you. Your legacy is great my friend, you have left a world that is filled with people whose lives you touched. I have shed a tear because we have not spoken in forever and will shed more, but it is not your passing from this earth, but for me...we let time get away from us. You will remain forever young and that is probably the way you would want it, I know I do. I know that my words cannot begin to describe the person you are and for that I am regretful. I will remember you always my friend. I owe you a back rub when I see you again!
I love you Ham, Kelly Sue

Little Ham, you will be in my thoughts and prayers. You probably do not remember me, however, I met you through Drew and family. I am glad that I spoke with your dad not that long ago after many years of not seeing him. Take care and again, you will be in my prayers!

I am a sister of Marsha, Beverly and David Wardlaw and grew up knowing Hamilton. He was one of the gang of Catholic High School boys and Westminster boys to frequent our house in those years. My fondest memory is his wonderful laugh. To his family, my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
